Carnivore Rules

1 Spawn Corpses are not claimable and they do not offer body protection. Eating from a spawn corpse does not earn you ownership, but you are welcome to be aggressive over and guard the food source. While contests over spawn corpses are allowed, a "4 Call" will not save you if the contest doesn't go in your favor.

2. Eating from or guarding a player body is considered claiming it. If there is an unclaimed body in the area, taking Meat Chunks from the body is considered claiming - even for scavengers.

  1.  All group members must stay with a claimed body (no member may run off to quest). The only exception is to get water if water is critically low.
  2.  If away from your/groups body down, you do not receive body down protection and your group mates may not defend you if attacked

3. Carnivores rarely tolerate other carnivores near their corpse and all attempted thieves can be chased and killed as the body owners see fit. See species profiles to see which species may tolerate what.

4.  Carnivores must claim all food sources within 1 body length of their Body Down. This means if multiple bodies have dropped on top of one another, they are all owned by the carnivore individual or group. (Body length = the body owners selected dino)

5.  Symbiotic relationships are allowed between the Thalassodromeus/Deinonychus/Latenivenatrix and the select carnivores below. Players entering these symbiotic relationships may not communicate help via text, and can only help by using the vocal/emote wheel to inform of danger, or potential prey.

    a.  Rex, Giga, Spino, Sucho, Dasp, Allo, Cerato, and Alioramus.

    b.  This does not give an excuse to cuddle or act otherwise unrealistic

    c.  Be expected to train your symbiotic   partners via your emotes; you may not tell      them what emote means what

6. Scavenger Guidelines:  Scavenger Guidelines: A Scavenger is a creature that follows larger creatures, or at times large packs, in order to profit from their kills. Some creatures are more tolerant of scavengers than others. Only creatures with the scavenger tag or ungrouped mid-tier non-scavengers can take meat scraps from bodies.

a Thalassodromeus must land before they can steal meat chunks from a body.

  • a.  Thalassodromeus must land before they can steal meat chunks from a body.
  • b   Thalassodromeus: After downing a prey, carnivores must get their fill and eat to full. Thal are allowed to circle directly above and 1 call above a kill to signal to the carnivores below that they are interested in taking claim over the kill. Body owners can 2 call to give the body. Thal can 2 call in return to inform the carnies that they intend to claim the body.
