1. Carnivores must be 60% hunger or lower in order to hunt. Only one member of the pack needs to be at 60% in order to initiate a hunt on another player.
2. Predators do NOT have to make any sort of call to initiate a hunt. Additionally, 4 calls mean nothing in a hunt. It does not save the hunter or the hunted from the encounter.
a. Hunts officially begin when both parties have engaged one another (via chasing, fleeing, or biting)
b. Switching targets to another species/group mid-hunt is not allowed; you must clearly disengage and ensure the opponent does not want to continue before switching targets (i.e lose LOS of previous target for a few minutes, or both parties resting &/or backing off)
c. If joining an ongoing hunt, all participating members must have their nametags visible (if they are not, they are too far and cannot join that engagement)
3. Body down during a fight will result in the end of the encounter. Any player or group that kills or claims a player body must stay with the body until it is gone.
a. This includes packmates - if a hunter's packmate falls, the fight stops and the pack must eat that body
b. All pack members must eat from the body and fill up their hunger bar until the body is gone - you may only sit to heal bleed that would otherwise kill you if you did not sit
c. Uninvolved collateral (such as a Deinonychus running through a hunt and getting squished) do not count as a body down
d. No one from the pack may leave the body for any reason unless dying of dehydration or to push a group out of your territory. You must return to the body after territory fight is done, unless you are the loser of the territory fight. The body is forfeit if you lose the territory.
4. Going after the same individual or group multiple times is allowed, there are no timers aside from finishing a body before beginning a new hunt.
a. If an individual or group feels as though you are stalking them after multiple engagements, they can start to be aggressive and attack without provocation, going as far as to chase you out of the area
b. If you or your group are chased out of an area, you should take that as a hint that you’re borderline targeting that player or group, please heed the warning
5. Interfering in fights is allowed by a maximum of 1 third party - group or individual. This is only applicable to hunts. Not contests or territory disputes. If you’re not sure, do not interfere.
a. Semi-aquatics interfering from water should be going after the closest target. Terrestrial hunts should go after what they believe is the weakest target.
b. If your species is already included in the fight, you cannot join as a third party
c. When a body drops in a third party fight, only the individual or group that landed the killing blow will have to drop the engagement as they now have a body down
