Migration Lore
It has become time, where the most stubborn herbivores have even agreed to come together for a mighty migration! The grounds they have roamed have become dry and inhabitable to live in. As they gather together, they do their best to set their quarrels aside to work together, marching their way through the lands of Gondwa to make it to their nesting grounds. The screams of the struthis, the loud stomps of the argents, the slashes of the theris, this herd will be unstoppable, but, there will be challenges and dangers. The cliffs are crumbling underneath their feet as carnivores surround the herds, threatening to pick off the weak and young. The fear of finding the next resting point to be filled with carnivores, and the rush to a bush, trampling any in their path, even their own herd members.
Will you survive the journey?
Event Rules
- Please follow all rules and announcements for the event - In-Game and Discord.
- If you’re caught blatantly breaking event rules, you will be forcefully removed from the event. This is for both Herbivores and Carnivores.
- You will be teleported across the map if you’re being removed. You may not be teleported back.
- The starting/preparation zone will be announced in-game before the event. There will be zones along the path, where food bushes will be placed for the amount of herbies present.
- Carnivores should not be gathering at the preparation spot; there will be no attacking going on at the starting spot until the herd has officially begun migrating as we are setting up. Do not constantly ask when you can attack in global.
- Please do not sprint during the event unless you’re a youngling trying to keep up. THIS INCLUDES ARGENTS! You will trample other players, and it contributes to lag so please do not.
- Leaders of the migration herds will be staff members - they must be listened to at all times via Local Chat. Failure to follow leaders' orders will result in a kick from the event. If your excuse is “I was in Group Chat,” you will still be kicked.
- The leading staff member will be a bright skin, such as albino, or be a fairly uncommon skin. Please do not have the same skin as the leading staff members to avoid confusion.
- Global hostility towards other players participating, or staff members attempting to manage such a large event will result in a kick + Strike. This is not fair to our staff who have a million things going on during a full server with an event going on. We will not tolerate it from anyone.
- Please follow all the species specific rules and for any Carnivores planning on trying their luck with the herd, follow your rules as well.
- All species will be able to group with their own species only (legal mix-groups are allowed). Groups can go over group limits! You’re only allowed to protect those within 3 body lengths of your dino.
- All buff calls may not be used to buff other species fighting. This means that Bars, Para, Lambeos, etc may not preemptively buff call when they know the herd is about to get attacked. They may only use their calls if they are actively getting attacked.
- Ducks
- Ducks may follow along peacefully mixed within the herd.
- Will only defend themselves and any Deinocheirus within 3 body lengths.
- Eotrikes
- Not allowed to mix within the herd; they should be at the far front, in the very back, or following on the sides of the herd.
- They will be aggressive to any herbivore that gets within their space - must threat display plenty before giving a warning attack.
- Any warning attacks that are ignored can be followed up on. If your target begins to run to get away, you may not chase them down.
- Will only defend themselves and other Eotrike within 3 body lengths from attacks.
- Bull fights are encouraged and allowed from two consenting males. They must initiate with a 3 call and mock attacks.
- Styraco
- May run through the herd, but cannot attack other herbivores while doing so. They are allowed to threat display and 3 call as they please.
- If on the outskirts of the herd, may be aggressive within the Personal Space.
- Will only defend themselves and other Styracos within 3 body lengths from attacks.
- Will be aggressive towards Alberts; if the Albert returns a 3 call to the Sty, they may Spar. Loser should leave that part of the herd. They may not fight to the death. And the fight must be consentual.
- Albert
- Will be aggressive towards Stys that show aggression; if the Albert returns a 3 call to the Sty, they may Spar. Loser should leave that part of the herd. They may not fight to the death. And the fight must be consentual.
- Will only defend themselves and other Alberts within 3 body lengths from attacks.
- Hadros
- Lambs may not heal the rest of the herd after combat.
- Will only defend themselves and other Hadros within 3 body lengths from attacks.
- Argents
- They are allowed to warn herbies near their feet, if they kill someone by trample or a warning tap, then the herd must move on and give the argents plenty of space.
- Will only defend themselves or other Argents within their body length from attacks.
- Low tiers
- Low tiers can act as scouts, alerting when a carnivore gets too close.
- Will not engage in combat unless against Low Tier carnivores. Only run and scream.
- Stego + Kentro (Stegosaurids)
- Stegosaurids may follow along peacefully mixed within the herd.
- Will only defend themselves or other Stegosaurids within 3 body lengths from attacks.
- Theris
- Should stay to the sides or back of the herd and should not mix in the herd other than to cross through.
- Pairs should stick together, and would aggress other pairs for the position spot in the herd.
- They can threat display herbivores in their Personal Space a few times before swiping their claws at them. They may not kill anything unless it is truly ignoring your displays and attacks.
- Will only defend themselves (and their pair) from attacks.
- Pachys
- Pachys can run along and show threatening behavior towards those close to them. If noticed actually attacking another herbivore that is not invading their personal space, the player will be kicked from the event.
- Will only defend themselves and other Pachys within 3 body lengths from attacks.
Nesting Grounds Rules
- There will be two nesting ground locations; both will follow the same rules as seen below.
- Profiles will be important for the nesting grounds; there will be nests placed further apart and nests placed closer together.
- Styracos and Alberts would not be nesting neighbors.
- Any species with Male limits in a group can not exceed that amount of males within 3 body lengths.
- Bullfights are allowed for males seeking a place in a group of nesting females.
- Nesting grounds can be protected by all participating species. This is within LOS of the grounds itself. Once engaged in a fight (in which the carnivore attacks back), only one species can be actively engaged in the fight. Other herbivores may not run over to engage.
- Carnivores that have been frequently sighted (especially if they have killed multiple young) can be chased beyond the nesting zone without provocation and killed.
- Body down rules count within the nesting zone. Under the circumstance the body is within 1 Eotrike body length of a nest, the body down does not have to be honored by herbivores.
- Carnivores should be tactful in where they decide to attack as you may not use this to loophole and kill multiple young. If caught doing so, you will be removed from the event.
- If your Carnivore group had killed a young and it is within the nest of that group and being protected, you may not kill another young from that specific nesting group until the original body has disappeared to try again.
Carnivore Specific Rules
- Carnivores are allowed to hunt the herd.
- Multiple groups can hunt the herd at once, but they may not third party ongoing fights and should separate around the herd; not clump together.
- Carnivores are allowed to trail behind in a stalking manner, scaring the herd and keeping the herd moving.
- Carnivores must follow all rules applied to their profiles, if caught not doing so, will be kicked from the event.
- If herbivores are accidently trampled or otherwise killed by the herd, carnivores are required to claim any visible body that is unclaimed. Herbivores should be making space around the carcass to give carnivores a chance to identify and claim the corpse.
Absolutely do not come to this event if you’re going to try to hunt the herd, and get upset when you get murked. The event is primarily for herbivore + group socializing and while you’re welcome to test your luck against a huge herd, you’re much more likely to get killed than you are to successfully bring something down.
