The Locking of Horns
The wet season brings new life, and new life brings new challenges to face. For as long as these islands have been home to large herbivores, Greenfield has always been one of the most desirable locations to rear young. When it is the Ceratopsians' time to nest, no other species even considers getting near their desired nesting locations. But they are not free to nest in peace - peace is never an option in Teutonia.
The Albertaceratops is a total tank, able to ravage any who dare challenge their strength. They are generally a gentle ceratopsian species, but become a total danger when they feel at all threatened or cornered. Their perseverance and headstrong attitude has always been a staple of the species, allowing them to overcome many of the hurdles thrown at them.
On the other hand, the Styracosaurus is a total beast. They are unpredictable and aggressive, choosing to take any obstacle head on and with no mercy. They shred through their opponents skin with ease, leaving grievous wounds that will eventually bleed out the unlucky soul who has fallen prey to their horns.
These two species must safely travel to Greenfield and prepare themselves for the battle that awaits them. Which species claims the most ideal nesting area this time around?
Event Overview
Our little chain of islands can only host so many ideal nesting locations. Species that have similar nesting needs and habits will often go head to head in procuring the best locations to rear their young, with the losers having to relocate to less desirable locations that force more danger upon them and their young.
Before the battle can commence, an Albertaceratops mega herd and a Styracosaurus mega herd will be formed, with bulls working to impress the cows along the way and taking their mates. During the migration, bulls can compete with each other for the right to females. Crowns may be overthrown!
These two powerful species will go head to head in the yearly battle of ensuring the best survivability of the next generation for their own species.
Carnivores beware - these species are especially aggressive during this time and around their nesting location. One wrong look at a Styraco and you may have caught yourself in quite the predicament. Be expected for these species to aggress you even from a distance, and be prepared to be run off if you decide to extend your stay.
Event Rules & Information
> Please follow the grouping rules (species profiles, group limits) as listed on our website
> Feel free to still travel, and socialize with members from different herds of the same species, but know that you can only defend members of your own herd.
> During migration, bulls may challenge one another for rights to their female herd.
> A bull cannot re-challenge a previous opponent. If you lose to them once, you may not try again against that bull for the duration of the event.
> During the migration, the herd cannot attack as a unit - instead, you may only protect those within your legal grouped herd.
> Carnivores that enter the nesting ground may be killed without warning
> Carnivores that kill within the nesting ground are not protected by the body and can still be chased out, or killed
> Kills made outside of the nesting ground are fair game for carnivores and cannot be defended by herbivores
> There will be no teleports to the locations unless you're being nested in by a paired couple.
> Normal herbivore/carnivore rules apply; if an herbivore is feeling threatened or building pressure by the presence of carnivores, they are well within their rights to aggress on sight. If you’re coming as a carnivore to hunt and stick around for more than 1-2 kills, expect to get increased aggression.
